Our approach is thorough and the finished result will reduce long term maintenance and prolong the life of your roof. Whilst cleaning roofs especially on domestic properties it is not always possible to work from booms or scissor lifts, due to the weight of the machines. The system which we use is a combination of roof ladders (where possible) and the latest fall restraint system for Health and Safety.

The operators wear a safety harness attached to a positioning rope and a separate fall arrest rope, both of which are attached to a suitable ground anchorage point. In recognition of the use of this process Great Outdoors and In has achieved SAFEcontractor accreditation.

In simple terms this provides the operator the maximum protection, as it protects the operator in the event of a slip and ensures the operator is working as safe as possible whilst working on your home. Please note we do not use scaffolding as this offers limited protection to the operators.

Our process for roof cleaning is as follows:-

• Cover and protect non treatment roof areas with tarpaulins
• Block main guttering down pipes (Unlike other companies we do not allow the dirty water to simply pour out of a disconnected down pipe, we use a gutter vacuum system which allows us to continually vacuum and pump the water away from the property)
• Pressure wash roof (using fall restraint system removing moss, lichen, algae fungi, dirt and other pollutants)
• Replace all missing, broken or damaged tiles, re-point / re-bed if required
• Clean guttering, soffits and fascias
• Unblock downpipes
• Apply moss killer treatment to eliminate any remaining moss spores (invisible to the naked eye)
• Remove tarpaulins and waste, wash down hard surfaces
• Window clean using our portable 'Reach and Wash' system (utilises pure water)
• Finally - Option to re-colour or seal tiles. We can offer the complete Isonit roof coating range of roof coatings, which carry a manufactures 5 year guarantee, with life expectancy in excess of 10 years.
